Hardie Cobbs is a Seattle based artist who is fascinated with observing life behind the lens. With her interest in learning about other cultures, her street-photography approach explores human behaviors in public spaces, captures the essence of place and examines patterns + repetitions in natural and man-made environments. Always with the camera, she intuitively stays in rhythm with her surroundings and is open to capturing unexpected moments or compositions. She finds this synchronicity essential to her work.
Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Birmingham and has been featured in several publications.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Cobbs went to college in Washington, DC and moved to the west coast where she has lived ever since. She was a member of the San Francisco artist community for many years before relocating to the Pacific Northwest. She lives in Seattle with her husband and 3 children. (CV available on request)
