Hardie Cobbs is a Seattle based multimedia artist who works in several mediums including painting, photography, printmaking, and ceramics. Her minimalist approach of reducing compositions to the essential elements, such as color, line and repetition is the theme throughout all of her work. By working in several mediums, she believes this allows her to work in a more comprehensive way as an artist.
Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, and Birmingham and has been featured in several publications.
Born and raised in Atlanta, Cobbs went to college in Washington, DC and then moved to the west coast where she has lived ever since. She took photography studies at the Corcoran School of Art and painting studies at the San Francisco Art Institute as well as at RISD. She was an active member of the San Francisco artist community for many years before relocating to the Pacific Northwest. She lives in Seattle with her husband and 3 children.
